I'll take that as a positive "wow." Hehe. Do you know the original folktale?

Reminds me of the ‘vilkolakė’ my elder son’s Estonian partner told me about, women who transform into wolves by night, to prowl their villages and punish the men who’ve wronged them.

It also reminds me of the ‘salu’ah’ in Middle Eastern folklore: a fierce female wolf‑spirit who hunts and devours men, especially those who harm women.

Both are powerful, even demonic figures, symbolising the ferocity of feminine vengeance, and subverting our patriarchal expectations of the submissive woman by using her ‘monstrous femininity’ to assert her power. That’s what your story said to me and left me feeling ‘Wow!’

I love this! Let’s read this to our class instead of the other one! Lol!

I feel like this one has a better message: "Girls, don't daydream about new dresses and boys. Be a werewolf when you grow up instead!" Haha. You know how we're always supposed to ask them what they think the message of the folktale is, or what they are supposed to learn.... I'd LOVE to hear what they would say about this one. 🤣
